Job summary

MRG Technical is seeking an experienced Controls or Automation Engineer to shape the controls team and own technically challenging projects. You will take a leading role on electrical and controls aspects of complex automation initiatives and coordinate engineers and technicians to drive on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in controls or automation engineering, hands-on PLC/HMI experience, and a proven ability to lead technical teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of controls, automation or electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, motion control and automated machinery.
• Confident reading and troubleshooting electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Experience leading or coordinating engineers, electricians or other technical personnel.
• Ability to take ownership of technically challenging automation projects.

Responsibilities

• Take a lead role in the electrical and controls side of complex automation projects.
• Coordinate technical personnel and work closely with engineering and project teams.
• Review electrical designs, drawings and controls hardware to ensure projects are delivered correctly and on schedule.
• Troubleshoot controls and electrical issues throughout the build and testing process.
• Help develop processes, improve standards and influence how the controls function grows.

You’ll take a leading role within the controls function, supporting projects through build and testing while coordinating technical teams, solving engineering problems and helping improve the way projects are delivered.

In this role, you will:

• Take a lead role in the electrical and controls side of complex automation projects.
• Coordinate technical personnel and work closely with engineering and project teams.
• Review electrical designs, drawings and controls hardware to ensure projects are delivered correctly and on schedule.
• Troubleshoot controls and electrical issues throughout the build and testing process.
• Help develop processes, improve standards and influence how the controls function grows.
• Up to $50/hr + Overtime (Realistic OTE $155-165K) + excellent benefits + 401(k) + progression opportunities.

To be considered, you must:

• Have 5+ years of controls, automation or electrical engineering experience.
• Have experience with PLCs, HMIs, motion control and automated machinery.
• Be confident reading and troubleshooting electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Have experience leading or coordinating engineers, electricians or other technical personnel.
• Be comfortable taking ownership of technically challenging automation projects.
