Job summary

Plastipak is seeking a Controls Engineer for our Medina, OH location. You will lead PLC programming and debugging for high-speed packaging, and develop HMI interfaces for new equipment.

Role requires 7+ years PLC/HMI experience with Allen-Bradley and Keyence, plus robot programming familiarity (Fanuc preferred). You will coordinate maintenance and vendor activities at the Medina plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is highly preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of PLC programming and HMI integration experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC5, SLC500, Compact Logix and Keyence is required.
• Robot programming experience with Fanuc is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee annual plant electrical preventative maintenance and IR scans.

Job description

As the Controls Engineer at Plastipak, you will be responsible for all controls and automation programming for our Medina, OH, location. This includes programming the control logic and debugging existing code for high-speed packaging equipment.

You Will

• Design, implement, and debug PLC programs with Allen-Bradley and Keyence for new equipment, as well as develop and implement Human-Machine Interface (HMI)
• Oversee the annual plant electrical preventative maintenance and IR Scan
• Participate in electrical troubleshooting for high-speed packaging equipment
• Manage electronics and robotics project selection and installation
• Coordinate and work with all electrical vendors as needed

You Have

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is highly preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of PLC programming skills and HMI integration/programming skills required with programs such as Allen Bradley PLC5, SLC500, Compact Logix, and Keyence are required
• Robot programming – Fanuc is highly preferred
