Belcan is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead all phases of control projects from concept to completion, including design, installation, and after-sales support. The role requires expert PLC programming, AC/DC control systems mastery, and strong collaboration with the Engineering Manager to drive standards.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in material handling, experience with Allen Bradley networks, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while traveling up to 25% as needed.
The Controls Engineer is responsible for leading all phases of a controls project to include concept and research, estimating support, component selection, network design, panel design, layout, device troubleshooting, PLC and HMI programming; on-site installation and debug; and after-sales support while working independently. A successful Controls Engineer has an expert level of knowledge and understanding of the full scope of controls engineering practices, theories, and PLC programming to implement the controls for a project from concept to completion. The Controls Engineer serves as a subject matter expert and resource for their team and provides coaching and guidance while working at a job site or in-office collaboration. To keep their knowledge up-to-date, the Controls Engineer will attend training in the latest controls technology and have the ability to share that knowledge with less experienced controls engineers as well as work collaboratively with the Engineering Manager to provide insight on the latest advancements in the field of controls engineering to implement new standards for the company.
