SYLUX is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize control systems that integrate infrared perception technology into vehicle platforms and test environments. The Controls Engineer role is a full-time, hybrid position initially based in Goleta, CA, (3-6 months) with eventual job location situated in Logansport, IN. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing control systems that integrate infrared perception technology into vehicle platforms and test environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and tuning control algorithms, configuring motion control and robotics systems, and collaborating with electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with ADAS architectures. The Controls Engineer will diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, support prototype builds and validation testing, and document designs, test results, and control strategies. The role also includes contributing to continuous improvement of control processes and supporting compliance with relevant automotive safety standards.
