SUMMARY:

We are looking for a seasoned Controls Engineer ready to lead cutting-edge automation projects from concept to completion. You will collaborate with mechanical and electrical designers, machine assembly experts, and customers to deliver high-performance automation solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Controls Engineer, you will be at the heart of our automation projects, responsible for designing control systems, developing code, and ensuring seamless integration and customer satisfaction. Your role will include:

  • Programming PLCs from scratch and developing robust, scalable control logic
  • Leading automation projects -large & small -both in-house and at customer sites
  • Designing system architecture, including electrical schematics and network layouts
  • Specifying and programming data collection systems that interface with PLCs/PACs
  • Integrating controls architecture with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Collaborating with robotic systems and integrating them into automation workflows
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Supporting the Applications team with accurate quoting and project estimates
  • Traveling with equipment for on-site installation, commissioning, and customer training
  • Ensuring successful machine runoff and acceptance at both our facility and the customers location

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in controls engineering
  • A related technical degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven ability to program PLCs from the ground up
  • Experience working with robotic systems
  • Material handling experience is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor junior engineers and technicians
  • Excellent communication skills and customer-facing experience
