The role involves on-site start-up, commissioning, FAT/SAT planning, and collaboration with process engineers to improve existing lines, while mentoring less experienced staff.

Formación

• OSHA knowledge and compliance.
• Proficient PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience with drives/servos and VFDs.
• Experience with industrial networks and data systems.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot PLC and HMI on four production lines.
• Collaborate with other engineers to improve line performance.
• Provide guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
• Assist in designing control system documentation (P&ID, I/O lists).
• Support on-site startup, commissioning, FAT/SAT activities.
• Contribute to project execution and resource planning.

Controls Engineer

Manage high speed making and packaging lines with a focus on automation; PLC and HMI Programming and troubleshooting

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot current process PLC program and HMI on 4 existing lines.
• Work with other Controls Engineers and Process Engineers to accomplish improvements to the existing lines.
• Provide instruction and guidance to less experienced technical employees.
• Assist in the design of control systems (I/O and Motor Lists, P&ID’s etc.)
• Create functional requirements specification documents with the corresponding FAT and SAT plans.
• Perform on-site startup, commissioning, validate and support.
• Provide technical competence during project execution.
• Identify changes in scope and notify Project/Engineering Manager in a timely manner.
• Develop approaches to solve problems, handle customer demands, changes and complaints.
• Contribute a broad technical competence to the team, along with superior communication, correspondence, and mediation skills.
• Assist in managing project’s resources, schedule, budget and scope.
• Provides input and resolves issues during the Estimating and Fabrication processes.
• Manage and develop project deliverables independently or within a team.
• Any additional duties deemed necessary by Manager related to role.Education:

Specific Knowledge:

• OSHA
• PLC/HMI (RS Studio 5000/ControlLogix; Wonderware Intouch and ArchestrA System Platform; Inductive Automation Ignition; Factory Talk ME/PanelView and SE)
• Drives/VFDs (Power Flex and Kinetix Servo Drives)
• Networks (Ethernet, DLR, CISCO Switches)
• Software/Database (C++; C#, NET, Java, SQL and Oracle)
