Job summary

Bosch Charleston is seeking a project lead for software development, PLC programming and IT infrastructure implementations in our automated manufacturing environment. You will guide investigations, trials and improvements to high‑volume processes while setting up machines and documenting work according to standards.

You will mentor hourly associates, drive safety, cost and quality improvements, and participate in daily MES‑driven management to meet targets and enable continuous performance gains.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering and 3+ years of technical experience.
  • Hands-on with highly automated equipment and robotics (Kuka, Staubly).
  • Experience with data analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Ability to travel internationally for training and projects.

Job Description


  • Project lead for software development, PLC programming and IT infrastructure implementations.

  • Perform investigations, trials, and improvements in automated manufacturing processes.

  • Set up machines and devices to prepare investigations as indicated.

  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans according to company standards (including process flow diagrams, PQIs, process control documentation, standard work instructions, etc).

  • Identifies and resolves quality issues related to automated equipment.

  • Mentors hourly skilled associates in proactive maintenance of assigned processes, including development of qualification cards and other training material.

  • Identify and lead projects to improve safety, cost, quality, delivery, and utilization of manufacturing processes in order to meet Policy Deployment objectives.

  • Actively participate in daily management of area using MES and other analytics/data to meet targets and derive measures to continuously improve performance.


Qualifications


  • BS in Engineering (Controls, Automation,Electrical, or Mechanical) and 3+ years technical experience.

  • Hands-on experience with highly automated equipment technologies- such as CNC machines and High Pressure Deburr, robots (Kuka, Staubly), automated axis systems, vision systems, and feeding systems.

  • Mechanical and electrical hardware design/upgrade experience.

  • Experience with data analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc)

  • Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Oracle) and IT concepts (VMs, networking)

  • Experience in high volume/technology manufacturing processes within the automotive industry preferred.

  • Ability to read and define electric drawings, pneumatic and/or hydraulic plans.

  • Project leadership skills and the ability to prioritize workload to meet established targets.

  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams with a high degree of self-initiative.

  • Experience utilizing problem solving techniques to solve complex manufacturing issues (Six Sigma, Shainin, 5 whys).

  • Ability to travel (including internationally) for training, projects, and IPN activities.
