Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in Austin, TX seeks a Controls Engineer II to join our Control System Integration Practice. You will develop automation solutions, design control systems, and program PLCs and HMIs for diverse clients in manufacturing sectors.

You’ll work with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms, FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware, and Ignition, collaborating with teams to meet schedules and ensure safe, reliable operation of facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering or similar technical field.
• Experience designing automation controls systems (PLC, SCADA) and with industrial control panels (UL508A).
• Strong communication and documentation skills (P&IDs, process flow diagrams).

Responsibilities

• Develop automation solutions for capital projects from design to commissioning.
• Design control systems and create project drawings to meet client specs.
• Program PLCs and HMI/SCADA systems and test at site and in factory.
• Manage project deliverables, schedules and regional start-up activities.
