Job summary

Johnson Controls in North Charleston, SC is seeking an electrical installer to support installation and checkout of building systems. You will work with Prime electrical contractors and interact with customers to ensure satisfaction with the installed systems.

Responsibilities include installing raceways and wiring to code, terminating control equipment, assisting with estimates, and documenting site activity. A strong ability to read drawings and apply local codes is essential.

Qualifications

• Electrical apprenticeship or formal training in electrical installation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Working knowledge of local codes as it applies to controls.
• Experience with scope determination of installation materials. Able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Installs raceways, cables and wiring to meet local or national codes, standards and customer system requirements.
• Lays out electrical controls installation to provide lowest total installed cost.
• Mounts and terminates control equipment as needed.
• May assist sales with electrical estimates, including walking retrofit projects.
• Determines and validates final termination points to equipment interfaced with the installed system.
• Checks out wiring and terminations of field-installed equipment with test instruments as needed.
• Keeps management informed of job needs, progress, and issues.
• Completes paperwork and on-site documentation; updates as-built drawings.
