ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC in Bridgeview, IL seeks a Controls & Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a small team of engineers and supervisors on a new, heavily automated production campus. You will be the strongest technical resource for electrical and controls, guiding both design and project delivery on site.

You will run end-to-end projects, design systems for production machinery and building infrastructure, and ensure NEC/NFPA codes and food safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• BSEE or 10+ years hands-on electrical project engineering in manufacturing.
• 7+ years electrical engineering in manufacturing with design, controls, and project work.
• Hands-on design skills including drawings, scoping, load sizing, and calculations.
• Working-level PLC skills: wire, program, troubleshoot.
• Experience with 13.8kV service, 480V distribution, MCCs, and control panels.
• Manufacturing background in food, bakery, chemical, packaging, or complex industrial plants.
• Prior engineering leadership is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead electrical projects end to end: design, scope, budget, install, document, close out.
• Design electrical and control systems for production machinery and building infrastructure.
• Maintain and support site medium/high voltage distribution.
• Serve as escalation point for electrical or controls problems.
• Troubleshoot motor control centers, panels, SCADA, and automated lines.
• Maintain electrical drawings; ensure NEC/NFPA 70 and local codes and food safety standards.
• Build electrical capital budgets, specs, RFQs, and BOMs for vendor quotes.

Controls & Electrical Engineering Manager – Industrial Equipment Manufacturing

Location: Bridgeview, IL (On-site)
Compensation: $140,000 to $170,000 based on education and experience
Schedule: 1st shift

Overview

A long-established industrial equipment manufacturer with more than half a century of history has opened a new, heavily automated production campus of roughly 800,000 square feet on Chicago’s southwest side. The volume and complexity of electrical work at the site has grown to the point that it needs a dedicated leader, so this position is new.

It is a working manager seat. You will lead a small group of engineers and supervisors, guide the electricians indirectly, and still be the strongest technical resource in the building on electrical and controls.

What the Job Involves

• Run electrical projects end to end: design, scope, budget, install, document, and close out
• Design electrical and control systems for production machinery, robotic palletizing, and building infrastructure
• Maintain and support the site’s medium and high voltage distribution
• Serve as the escalation point for production when electrical, PLC, or controls problems hit
• Troubleshoot motor control centers, panels, SCADA, and automated lines
• Keep plant electrical drawings current and make sure work meets NEC, NFPA 70, local code, and food safety standards
• Build electrical capital budgets, specs, RFQs, and bills of material for vendor quotes

What They Need

• BSEE, or 10+ years of hands-on electrical project engineering in manufacturing in lieu of a degree
• 7+ years of electrical engineering in a manufacturing setting with real design, controls, and project work
• Hands-on design skills including drawings, scoping, load sizing, and calculations
• Working-level PLC skills: able to wire, program, and troubleshoot
• Experience with 13.8kV service, 480V distribution, MCCs, and control panels
• Manufacturing background required; food, bakery, chemical, packaging, or other complex industrial plants preferred
• Prior engineering leadership a plus
• PE or electrical license a plus, not required
