Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Controls Design Engineer for our Holland, MI facility. This onsite role focuses on electrical and fluid power design for automated manufacturing solutions, interfacing with vendors and customers to ensure designs meet specifications.

You will create schematics, define BOM components, and collaborate across disciplines to drive successful project execution. Travel up to 10% for training and customer visits may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or 5 years’ experience in the automation industry.
• Proficient use of CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of: applicable industry standards, electrical and fluid power circuits, basic electrical & pneumatic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Interface with internal/external vendors and customers.
• Conduct electrical and fluid power design.
• Ensure equipment design meets customer and JR specifications using standard techniques.
• Create electrical and fluid power schematics.
• Specify electrical/fluid power components for BOM.
• Carry out tasks with minimal direct supervision.
• Assist with program execution related to cost, quality, timing, and customer satisfaction.
• Understand and assure compliance with applicable industry standards.
• Communicate with mechanical designers, machine builders, electricians, plumbers, and controls engineers during design.
• Attend machine/station design reviews.
• Travel up to 10% yearly for training and site visits.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Up to 10% travel yearly for job training and customer site visits.

What You’ll Bring:
