Job description

Controls and Automation Engineering Manager
  • Full-time
  • Job Category Org: Domino’s Technology
  • Location Name - Location Code: Home Office - DC-DPIDC

Domino’s Pizza, which began in 1960 as a single store location in Ypsilanti, MI, has had a lot to celebrate lately: we’re a reshaped, reenergized brand of honesty, transparency and accountability – not to mention, great food! In the rise to becoming a true technology leader, the brand is now consistently one of the top five companies in online transactions and 65% of our sales in the U.S. are taken through digital channels. The brand continues to ‘deliver the dream’ to local business owners, 90% of which started as delivery drivers and pizza makers in our stores. That’s just the tip of the iceberg…or as we might say, one “slice” of the pie! If this sounds like a brand you’d like to be a part of, consider joining our team!

The Controls & Automation Engineering Manager leads the strategy, standards, and implementation of critical process controls that keep Domino's Supply Chain Centers running safely, reliably, and efficiently. This role advances the controls, automation, and Operational Technology capabilities that support modern manufacturing, improve asset performance, and enable continued growth across the supply chain network.

Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Finance, Food Safety & Quality, Information Technology, and Engineering teams, this leader helps shape and scale a practical OT and automation roadmap that improves uptime, strengthens business continuity, increases standardization, and turns equipment data into actionable insight. This is an opportunity to build scalable technical standards, develop a high-performing team, partner with site leaders, and deliver meaningful improvements in reliability, safety, and operational performance.

What You'll Do

Support the development and adoption of a network-wide controls and automation strategy that improves operational reliability, efficiency, safety, and scalability.

Develop and maintain standards for PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, equipment controls, data collection, and OT infrastructure.

Lead, coach, and develop controls and automation team members while building a culture of ownership, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Partner with Supply Chain Center operations and maintenance teams to resolve complex downtime events, improve troubleshooting capability, and reduce recurring failures.

Establish practical governance for controls documentation, software backups, change management, system access, disaster recovery, and incident response.

Collaborate with Engineering, IT, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and vendor partners to deliver automation projects on time, within budget, and aligned with business priorities.

Support the development of multi-year controls and automation roadmaps for asset lifecycle planning, capital investment, equipment modernization, and manufacturing resiliency.

Evaluate emerging technologies, automation solutions, system integrators, and OEM capabilities to identify practical opportunities for standardization and value creation.

Create business cases and capital recommendations that balance risk, reliability, safety, food safety, capacity, maintainability, and financial return.

Improve visibility into equipment performance through data acquisition, dashboards, reporting, and actionable manufacturing insights.

Support consistent execution of automation projects, commissioning, startup, training, handoff, and long‑term support models across the Supply Chain Center network.

Measure success through improved uptime, reduced unplanned downtime, stronger troubleshooting capability, better data quality, improved business continuity, and consistent adoption of controls standards.
