Job summary

Levy Restaurants in Ann Arbor, Michigan is seeking a Controller to lead all financial operations for the University of Michigan location. You will drive profitability through robust reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, acting as a strategic partner to location leadership.

The role requires 6+ years in finance/accounting, strong Excel skills, and experience in food & beverage settings. You will handle complex forecasting and ensure adherence to Levy policies, including liquor licensing

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a Finance/Accounting role or education equivalent.
• Food & Beverage experience preferred – Restaurants and/or Hospitality.
• High level of Excel literacy.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work non-standard hours as dictated by event schedule.
• Ability to hold active state liquor license where state laws are applicable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations, reporting, budgeting and internal controls for the location.
• Manage monthly and annual close processes including commission or profit share calculations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform profitability and variance analyses to guide management decisions.
• Lead the annual budget process and provide forecasting with semi-monthly re-forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with Levy policies and strong controls; implement best practices.
• Partner with location managers to advise on operational strategies and cost improvements.
• Support ad hoc financial needs and event-related financial support as required.
