Job summary

Trinity Metro seeks a Controller in Fort Worth, TX to lead the accounting department, oversee close cycles, audits, and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and GASB. This role partners with auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate disclosures and robust controls.

The Controller will manage the preparation of ACFR, SEFA, NTD reports, and monthly/ quarterly closes, while directing payroll, tax filings, and capital asset accounting in a complex public sector environment.

Qualifications

• CPA license active and in good standing required.
• 7+ years of governmental accounting experience preferred.
• 3+ years in financial statement prep and 3+ years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day accounting operations across close, audit, and reporting calendars.
• Lead production of audited financial statements and ACFR.
• Coordinate with external auditors and respond to inquiries.
• Ensure accurate GL interfaces and chart of accounts management.
• Oversee payroll processes and tax filings.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and policy documents.
