Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is seeking a dedicated Controller to serve nonprofit clients across on-site and remote settings. You will lead financial reporting, internal controls, grant management, payroll, and year-end audits, transforming client accounting and strengthening procedures.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with a 35-hour full-time week, competitive compensation ($100,000–$125,000), and a strong benefits package plus professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5–7+ years accounting experience.
• Experience with nonprofit organizations preferred.
• Remote work experience preferred.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.
• Financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentations.
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures.
• Transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close.

• Grant management, allocations, and funder reporting.
• Prepare for and manage annual audit.

We are looking for a dedicated, personable, hands‑on Controller seeking a dynamic opportunity to guide our clients and provide transformative accounting services. Successful candidates must be comfortable working with multiple clients both virtually and on‑site. The Controller will interact with clients, their staff, Board of Directors, and Finance Committees on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing), and payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month‑end close, and maintaining workpapers
• Analysis and data visualization, budgeting and forecasting
• Grant management, allocations, and funder reporting
• Prepare for and manage annual audit
• Client and staff training opportunities

Qualifications

• Passionate about working in or supporting non‑profit organizations
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• 5-7 plus years accounting experience
• Experience working in a remote environment preferred
• Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis
• Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems
• Non‑profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus but not required
• CPA certification is a plus
• Bilingual‑English/Spanish a plus

Starting annual base salary is $100,000 to $125,000 based on a 35‑hour work week for this non‑exempt position. Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided on an annual basis.
