Signet Jewelers in Charlotte is seeking a skilled Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting and 7+ years of practical experience in a corporate environment, preferably within the retail or jewelry sectors.

This role includes supervising accounting staff and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, comprehensive healthcare benefits available from day one, and generous 401(k) matching after one year of service.

• 7+ years of practical accounting experience in a corporate setting.
• Previous retail or jewelry industry experience preferred.
• Local to Charlotte area and available to be in the office on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including Credit Card/Financing A/R.
• Manage and supervise accounting staff; mentor and develop team members.
• Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting.
• Oversee Sales Tax compliance with applicable states.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including Credit Card/Financing A/R, A/P, GL, Inventory Accounting, Treasury Management, and Revenue Recognition
• Manage and supervise accounting staff; mentor and develop team members to ensure departmental growth and performance
• Ensure timely and accurate period, quarterly, and annual financial closings
• Responsible for all payroll-related GL activity
• Manage all Intacct/GL related updates/changes and custom reporting needs
• Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Develop internal control policies, procedures, and compliance protocols
• Coordinate and manage annual audits and liaise with external auditors and Signet’s Internal Audit team
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and forecasts
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
• Oversee Sales Tax compliance with applicable states
• Oversee the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and tools

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar Finance field
• 7+ years of practical accounting experience in a corporate setting
• Proficient use of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
• Previous retail or jewelry industry experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a time environment
• Local to Charlotte area and available to be in the office on a hybrid schedule
