Job summary

A reputable accounting firm in Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Controller for their Client Accounting & Advisory Services. You will oversee staff, ensure accuracy of transactions, and manage financial reconciliations. Candidates must have a B.S. degree in Accounting and substantial experience in accounting roles. This full-time position offers a salary between $80,000 and $100,000 with numerous benefits including health insurance and flexible work schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting with 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage responsibilities of assigned CAAS transactional staff.
• Perform monthly accounting reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts for assigned clients.
• Assist with development of financial budgets.

Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) services include full-service CFO Advisory Services, Controller, bookkeeping, vendor bill processing and payment, customer invoicing, payroll processing and tax reporting; and sales tax preparation. Requirements

• Oversee and manage responsibilities of assigned CAAS transactional staff
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of all transaction processing performed by CAAS transaction staff
• Perform monthly accounting reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts for assigned clients
• Manage month-end close for assigned clients
• Assist with development of financial budgets
• Prepare and analyze financial reporting
• Assist in preparing proposals for CAAS services
• Participate in marketing events
  
  

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting with 2+ years of supervisory experience
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent communicator
• Must have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Able to manage priorities and workflow
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
  
  

Salary: $80,000.00- $100,000.00
