Job summary

Restaurant Associates seeks a collaborative, detail-oriented Controller to oversee the full financial operations of our World Bank account. Qualifications

  • Progressive accounting and financial management experience, preferably in hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Experience managing P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with Excel and financial reporting systems.
  • CPA, CMA or other professional certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial aspects of the World Bank account, including accounting, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and operating metrics.
  • Monitor revenue, labor, food costs, and operating expenses to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with operational leadership to develop annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts.
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Manage cash controls, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and POS reporting activities.
  • Oversee client billing processes and ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, accounting standards, and client contractual requirements.
  • Support external and internal audits and coordinate responses to audit findings.
  • Prepare and review sales tax and other regulatory filings as required.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Provide financial guidance and recommendations to account leadership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead special projects, financial modeling, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and support finance and administrative team members as needed.

Restaurant Associates is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the full financial operations of our prestigious World Bank account. This role serves as the primary financial leader for the account, providing strategic guidance, financial analysis, compliance oversight, and operational support to ensure strong fiscal performance and sound business decision-making.

The Controller partners closely with operational leadership to manage budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, internal controls, and client financial commitments. This position is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic hospitality environment and is passionate about driving accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Position Title: Controller

Salary: $115,000 - $125,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all financial aspects of the World Bank account, including accounting, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Progressive accounting and financial management experience, preferably within hospitality, foodservice, contract dining, retail, or multi-unit operations.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Experience managing profit and loss statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across operational and corporate teams.
  • Experience in hospitality, foodservice, contract dining, catering, or restaurant operations.
  • Experience working with POS systems, cash management, and credit card reconciliation processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP and accounting platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, NetSuite, SAP, or similar systems.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Experience supporting client-facing financial reporting and contract management environments.
