Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a comparable position, preferably in a financial institution.
  • CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and financial reporting.
  • Expertise in Excel and financial data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present periodic financial reports and risk analysis to senior leadership, including the Board.
  • Create budgets and forecasts.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain internal control guidelines and procedures for budget accounting and cash management.
  • Coordinate budgeting, procurement, investment activities, and financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards, including filing reports.
  • Coordinate with examiners and auditors and respond to their requests.
  • Provide strategic financial support to management on commercial matters.
  • Oversee the company general ledger and close processes.
  • Manage and supervise the Internal Auditor.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a comparable position, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
  • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking.
  • Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
  • Proven experience in financial project management.
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel.
  • Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand.
  • Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.
Working Conditions
  • The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Physical Requirements
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
