Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 5+ years within a global or internationally operating organization.
  • Experience overseeing financial operations across multiple entities.
  • Experience with financial oversight of a business or P&L of at least $500M.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations, or other transaction-related activities.
  • Practical understanding of IFRS requirements and their application to financial reporting.
  • Understanding and application of applicable tax requirements and regulations.
  • Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret results and drive decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and communicate across an organization.
  • Ability to operate in a changing business environment with broad responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to identify opportunities and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting activities and ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and enhance financial controls and management processes for reliable reporting.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across the organization.
  • Review results, investigate variances, and recommend actions to improve performance.
  • Evaluate operating results, cost structures, and margins to improve profitability.
  • Provide leadership with financial analysis, recommendations, and insights for decision-making.
  • Partner with business teams to understand operations, results, and drivers.
  • Establish standards across accounting, finance, and administrative activities to improve efficiency.
  • Share financial knowledge and promote consistent best practices across teams.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead related initiatives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA preferred

Job description

The Controller will oversee financial reporting, accounting controls, planning, and performance management across multiple business operations. This role will provide financial guidance to leadership, establish consistent financial practices, and help ensure reporting and administrative processes operate accurately and efficiently. The position will also evaluate financial performance, identify opportunities to improve profitability and cost management, and support continuous improvement across the organization. The role will operate within a complex, multi-entity environment with responsibility for significant financial operations and involvement in mergers, acquisitions, and related business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting activities and ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Maintain effective internal controls and promote adherence to established financial policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial controls and management processes to support reliable reporting and effective oversight.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, coordinating financial inputs and expectations across the organization.
  • Review financial results, investigate variances, communicate key findings, and develop recommendations to address performance issues and opportunities.
  • Evaluate operating results, cost structures, and margins to identify opportunities to improve financial performance and profitability.
  • Provide leadership with financial analysis, recommendations, and insights to support business performance and decision-making.
  • Partner with business and operational teams to develop a strong understanding of individual operations, financial results, and performance drivers.
  • Establish consistent standards and procedures across accounting, finance, and administrative activities while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Share financial and operational knowledge across teams and promote consistent application of effective practices and processes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead initiatives designed to strengthen financial and administrative operations.
Qualifications:

  • Prior public accounting experience.
  • Experience overseeing financial operations across multiple entities.
  • Experience with financial oversight of a business or P&L of at least $500M.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations, or other transaction-related activities.
  • Practical understanding of IFRS requirements and their application to financial reporting.
  • Understanding and application of applicable tax requirements and regulations.
  • Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret results, identify performance drivers, and provide recommendations that support financial objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across an organization.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a changing business environment and manage a broad range of responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a structured and detail-oriented approach.
