Job summary

Transportation Management Group (TMG) is seeking a results-driven Controller in Las Vegas, NV. This senior finance leader will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and systems, supporting growth across multiple entities.

The role requires hands-on leadership, deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 lease accounting, and a proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and audit coordination. In-person, on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience with financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and auditing procedures.
  • Hands-on knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Experience leading multi-entity consolidations and accounting teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting and financial reporting functions, including team coaching and process development.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting.

About the Role

The Controller is a senior financial leader responsible for TMG’s accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and financial systems. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial information while building scalable accounting processes to support continued growth.

The Controller oversees day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll accounting, general ledger, fixed assets, lease accounting, intercompany accounting and consolidations, revenue recognition, cash flow, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and audit coordination. This role also provides executive leadership with financial analysis and reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.

We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, hands-on leader with strong accounting, reporting, compliance, and team leadership experience who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Company’s accounting and financial reporting functions, including team performance, coaching, process development, and accounting best practices.
  • Oversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting in accordance with applicable accounting principles and Company policies.
  • Own monthly multi-entity consolidations, including consolidating schedules, intercompany and equity eliminations, and supporting workpapers sufficient for audit review.
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting, monitor performance against budget, analyze variances, and identify opportunities for cost control and financial improvement.
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity planning, including cash positions, financing arrangements, investments, and anticipated funding requirements.
  • Provide financial oversight of billing and revenue cycle activities, including billing accuracy, payor/broker remittance reconciliations, denials, write-offs, rate adjustments, collections escalation, AR aging, and reserve analysis.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard Company assets, support financial integrity, prevent fraud, and maintain compliance.
  • Own ASC 606 revenue recognition, including review of customer/payor arrangements, performance obligations, variable consideration, accruals, deferrals, disclosures, and supporting policies.
  • Coordinate external audits and financial reviews, including supporting schedules, documentation, and responses to inquiries.
  • Oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting, general ledger, reconciliations, fixed assets, and month-end/year-end close.
  • Manage high-volume intercompany accounting across multiple entities, including due to/due from balances, management fees, shared-service allocations, cash sweeps, reconciliations, and elimination entries.
  • Build and develop the accounting team by establishing clear roles, performance expectations, accountability, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance and filings in coordination with external advisors as appropriate.
  • Own ASC 842 lease accounting for vehicle, facility, and equipment leases, including lease inventory, classification, ROU assets and liabilities, modifications, renewals, discount rates, and disclosures.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
  • Lead implementation, optimization, and maintenance of accounting/ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, Business Development, and Executive Leadership to ensure financial processes and systems support organizational needs.
  • Provide oversight of payroll processing and controls with HR, including payroll registers, timekeeping and driver pay accuracy, labor allocations, multi-state payroll compliance, and external payroll providers.
  • Develop financial dashboards and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage debt, financing, and treasury administration, including covenant compliance, lender/investor reporting, debt service, interest schedules, and positive pay.
  • Support financial due diligence, new market evaluation, entity expansion, and strategic initiatives through financial modeling and analysis.
  • Maintain accounting documentation, policies, procedures, and records to support compliance and scalability.

  • Substantial hands-on experience with high-volume intercompany accounting and multi-entity consolidations, including reconciliations, shared-service allocations, elimination entries, and consolidated financial statements.
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Experience leading and developing accounting or finance teams.
  • Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems; implementation or optimization experience preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights.
  • Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-state operations preferred.
  • Experience overseeing billing, claims/revenue cycle functions, and payroll controls; Medicaid, broker, or third-party payor experience strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare, transportation, or other highly regulated service-industry experience preferred.

Reports directly to the TMG Chief Executive Officer.

  • Bonus: To be determined, with potential total compensation up to $150,000
