Job summary

Brickl Bros., Inc. seeks a detail-oriented financial leader to oversee the company’s financial records and accounting team. You will manage general ledger, payroll, tax compliance, budgeting, and internal controls to safeguard assets.

You will oversee financial reporting, ERP governance, and interactions with outside providers. A strong GAAP foundation and construction accounting experience are essential, along with leadership and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting including ledgers, AR, AP, payroll, inventory, and job costing.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Manage financial reporting, monthly statements, and analyses.
• Administer all accounting software.
• Prepare and file sales/use, property, and multi-state payroll taxes.
• Coordinate annual income tax returns and financial statement reviews.
• Maintain fixed asset lists and depreciation schedules.
• Report cash and short-term debt daily; monitor bank covenants.
• Prepare budgets and financial projections.
• Assist with employee benefits administration.
• Manage relationships with insurance providers and ensure coverage.
• Review customer contract requirements.
• Complete special projects as directed.
• Oversee sales reporting, commissions, and payments.
• Lead the accounting team.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual who will oversee the company's financial records and account personnel. You will be responsible for maintaining all procedures and controls related to the company's financial accounts.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of general accounting including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, and job costing.
• Ensure adequate internal controls are in place and effectively safeguarding company assets.
• Manage the financial reporting process, including preparation of monthly financial statements and various analyses requested by management.
• Manage the administration of all accounting software.
• Ensure the timely, accurate preparation and filing of all sales and use, property, and payroll tax returns (multi-state).
• Coordinate the preparation of annual income tax returns and annual financial statement reviews.
• Maintain fixed asset lists and depreciation schedules.
• Manage and report on cash and short-term debt on a daily basis.
• Understand and report on bank covenant compliance.
• Prepare and update the Company's financial projections and budgets.
• Assist with employee benefits administration.
• Manage relationships with outside insurance and benefits providers.
• Maintain and administer proper levels of insurance coverage.
• Assist with review of customer contract requirements.
• Complete special projects as may be required by management.
• Manage sales reporting, including commission calculations and payment.
• Manage the accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting
• 4-7 years of construction industry accounting experience
• Advanced computer skills, with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Strong understanding of GAAP financial accounting and construction cost accounting
