Job summary

The Controller at Brehob Corporation will oversee all financial activities, partnering with the executive team to streamline budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role focuses on delivering accurate insights to support strategic decisions and ensuring GAAP compliance.

The ideal candidate has CPA credentials, a bachelor’s in accounting or finance, and proven leadership in a fast-paced environment. You will manage the general ledger, AR/AP, cash flow, and year-end audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA license or active CPA status preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Produce financial-status reports to improve operational efficiency and aid growth.
  • Build and maintain a collaborative, team-first culture.
  • Monitor compliance with GAAP and company procedures.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Oversee AR and AP and general ledger activities; ensure proper coding.
  • Ensure revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP; monitor AR aging.
  • Collaborate with corporate accounting to report data for decision-making.
  • Ensure timely processing of expense reports per policy.
  • Manage vendor and customer financial relationships and credit terms.
  • Oversee cash flow and banking activities; manage tax reporting with consultants.
  • Coordinate year-end audit procedures with external auditors.
  • Manage fixed assets and the Purchasing team.

Job description

Position Summary

The Controller will be responsible for the timely and effective administration of all financial activities. The Controller will work closely with the executive team to streamline budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. Our vision is to provide the best-in-class service to our customers. Key Responsibilities


  • Manage all accounting functions to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Produce thorough financial-status reports to improve operational efficiency and aid in continued growth.

  • Build and maintain a collaborative and continuous improvement-focused, team-first culture

  • Monitor compliance with accepted accounting principles and company procedures

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts

  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records

  • Oversee invoicing, posting activities for AR and AP, and manage the general ledger to ensure proper coding of transactions

  • Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP

  • Monitor AR aging and work to ensure timely payment of invoices

  • Collaborate with corporate accounting team to report financial data and support decision-making processes

  • Ensure expense reports are processed in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with company policy

  • Manage vendor and customer financial relationships including maintaining files, data entry, regularly reviewing and participating in the negotiations of terms, approving customer credit, verifying statements, and handling external and internal inquiries

  • Manage cash flow, including banking activities and relationships

  • Manage tax reporting with assistance from outside consultants

  • Manage the Purchasing team

  • Coordinate year-end audit procedures with external auditors

  • Manage fixed assets

  • May perform other duties as assigned

  • Key Metrics /Performance Indicators

  • Keep accurate account reconciliations

  • Ensure timely payments for invoicing


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Proven experience as a Controller or similar role

  • CPA License

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately

  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for preparing comprehensive financial reports

  • Proficiency in financial management software, Microsoft Business Central ERP system experience is a bonus
