SUMMARY:

The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company. Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and monthly reporting. Implements internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities. Oversee training programs and identifies training needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include, but are not limited to…)
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversee the production of monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, and budget preparation.
- Recruits, hires and manages accounting and financial staff. This includes leading, directing and development of staff including yearly performance evaluations.
- Support for leadership on Venue financial request and profit and loss summaries.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
- Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on payroll standardization and compliance.
- Collaborate with external auditors to provide information needed for the annual audit.
- Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
- Files quarterly and annual reports as needed.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Provide accounting requirements to outside accounting practice.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- 10 + years or more of related experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation highly preferred.
