Job summary

Fresenius Kabi in Melrose Park, IL, seeks a Materials Management & Controlled Substance Specialist to oversee compliant lifecycle management of development materials, including controlled substances. You will manage receipt, storage, dispensing, and distribution while ensuring DEA compliance and inspection readiness.

The role reports as SNSR and requires a strong pharmacovigilance mindset, regulatory knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration with QA, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a regulated materials environment.
• Controlled substance recordkeeping & reporting experience.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• Certification in DOT and IATA shipping procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Materials Management Program: receipt, quarantine, release, storage, dispensing, transfer, shipment, inventory control and disposal of materials in compliance with procedures.
• Coordinate Material Supply and Logistics Operations: sampling, testing, inventory management, inter-site transfers, shipments, hazardous materials transport, customs clearance, and material availability.
• Administer Reference Standard and Sample Management Programs: inventories, retention samples, qualification, issuance, reconciliation, storage monitoring, and disposal.
• Ensure Controlled Substance Compliance and Accountability: inventories, dispensing, reconciliation, recordkeeping, reporting, destruction activities, and security controls.
• Support Regulatory Licensing, Reporting, and Inspection Readiness: maintain DEA registrations, state licenses, regulatory submissions, inspections, and documentation.
