Job Summary

Works on the design and implementation of control system projects. Capable of leading several project design related tasks and/or complicated large-scale design projects in their entirety. Provides engineering support on projects led by others. Assumes ultimate responsibility for the assigned projects/tasks. Takes direction and seeks guidance from the assigned project leads, the supervisors, and company leadership.

Education And Experience
  • Bachelor of Science; Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or other pertinent curriculum combined with relevant technical experience.
  • Typically, 4+ years total experience.
  • Proven Track Record: 2+ years as Lead Control Systems Engineer or equivalent.
  • Experienced with Building Management and/or Electrical Power Monitoring Systems. Experience with data centers is a plus.
Duties And Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
  • Expert in reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and controls construction drawings and wiring diagrams. Able to provide feedback regarding field conditions versus drawings.
  • Experienced with Rockwell Automation Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications. Experience with SCADA systems such as AVEVA Wonderware/System Platform and Ignition is a plus.
  • Expert in understanding, practicing, and guiding others in the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Firm understanding of and ability to independently design complex Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring (EPMS) control system designs.
  • Use BACnet and Modbus to integrate mechanical and electrical equipment such as Rooftop Units, Air Handling Units, VAV boxes, Chillers/Pumps, Computer Room AC Units, Switchgear, Power Quality Meters, Generators, Transformers, Static and Automatic Transfer switches, and Power Distribution Units.
  • Able to independently design complex control systems.
  • Provide instrumentation specifications for complex control systems.
  • Value engineer specifications to provide the most cost-effective solutions.
  • Leads detailed design of network architecture diagrams for BMS and EPMS.
  • Provide on-site and remote support to field engineers during start-up and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).

  • Assume the ultimate responsibility for the successful completion of those projects or tasks on schedule and under budget.
  • Take on the role of the customer’s main contact on those projects that the employee is assigned to lead. Efficiently communicates with other project stakeholders.
  • Identify and track changes in scope to overall projects and/or tasks.
  • Provide support on other projects or tasks that are scheduled to be led by others.
  • Manage and delegate assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and under budget.
  • Understands and anticipates customer needs.
  • Accurately estimates the duration and difficulty of tasks.
  • Ensures the team adheres to a realistic schedule and budget.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks.

Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00/annually
