Job description

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you’ll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. Your work will directly support technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience.

In the role of Control Systems EIT/Designer, we’ll count on you to:
  • Participate in the design of complex supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems
  • Assist with selection and specification of process instrumentation, control panels, and network equipment
  • Assist with development of biddable and technically accurate instrumentation and control system construction documents
  • Assist with the development of software applications for automation such as programmable logic controller (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI)
  • Assist with system testing and commissioning activities
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more‑senior engineers on larger projects
  • Give direction to clerical and technical personnel
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Candidates without their EIT will be called a Control Systems Designer and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
