Under general direction, operate one biomass fired boiler and one (1) 3 MW steam turbine using an Allen Bradley DCS and various PLC‑operated controls. The position includes operation of all associated equipment to provide electrical generation and REC production in a safe, environmentally compliant and reliable manner.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
Typically spends 20% of time in an operations field environment and may need to work outside occasionally in inclement weather conditions. Majority of the time will be spent in a control‑room office type setting. Possible work hazards include dust, fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals, rotating machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards. Physical demands: standing 25%, sitting 50%, walking 25%. The employee is required to use hands, fingers and arms and to speak and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stop, kneel or crouch and enter confined spaces, use ladders or stairs, and must lift or move up to 50 pounds. Vision required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus and the ability to close‑observe to detect process upset conditions and alarms.
