Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Control Process Operator to set up and run break presses, plasma table, and related equipment. You will read blueprints, verify dimensions, adjust for materials, and move finished parts to storage while following safety procedures.

This full-time, on-site role requires at least 1 year of machine-operator experience, familiarity with metal fabrication, and the ability to lift heavy parts and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience operating a 20' or larger break press, plasma table, or drill press.
• Ability to read blueprints and verify dimensional requirements.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to stand, climb on/off equipment, and lift materials in excess of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate break presses, plasma table, and related equipment.
• Form or cut materials into designated shapes and sizes.
• Move materials with overhead cranes and ensure safety practices.
• Troubleshoot equipment and make basic adjustments.
• Follow safety rules and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Meyer Utility Structures is currently looking to hire a Control Process Operator for our plant operation located in Fort Worth, TX. The Control Process Operator sets up and operates machines, and may use blueprints, make adjustments for materials used, verify dimensional requirements, and transfer materials to storage areas.

Schedule: Mon- Fri 5:00 am - 4:30 pm with MANDATORY overtime on Saturdays as needed.

What you will do:

• Operate any or all of the following machines:
  -20' Break Press
  -26' Break Press
  -60' Break Press
  -Plasma Table
  -Kinetic (Drill Press)
• Form and or cut materials into predesignated shapes and sizes
• Operate overhead cranes to move materials safely
• Troubleshoot equipment and make basic adjustments
• Make general decisions as to quality, tolerances, and operation sequence
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Other job duties as assigned

What you will need:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a 20' or larger break press, Plasma Table, or Drill Press, preferably breaking and/or cutting steel up to 2" thick
• Working knowledge/experience with angle grinders/metal manufacturing/fabrication
• Experience operating overhead cranes
• Experience operating forklifts
• Ability to proficiently read blueprints and verify dimensional requirements
• The ability to maintain reliable and predictable good attendance
• The ability to stand throughout the day, and climb on/off equipment, and lift materials in excess of 50 pounds regularly
• A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal
