Job description

Join Altronic and help build the control panels that keep large industrial engines running in the oil and gas market.

Altronic is seeking a Control Panel Assembler to join the team in Girard, Ohio. In this role, you'll create and modify AutoCAD files, review engineering drawings, and assemble electrical panels and harnesses per work instructions or assembly drawings, supporting the production of control panels for large industrial engines used primarily for engine control and monitoring.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Create and modify laser engraver AutoCAD files.
  • Review engineering drawings on initial new builds for production accuracy, including wire sizes, BOMs, drawing references, and labels.
  • Assemble electrical panels and harnesses per work instructions or assembly drawings.
  • Wire panels to match electrical drawings exactly, in a neat and orderly fashion, consistently.
  • Interpret and lay out customized panels according to electrical panel design requirements.
  • Identify all associated parts and assemblies on a Bill of Material.
  • Use required hand tools, including crimpers, wire strippers, ferrule crimpers, screwdrivers, nut drivers, and power drills.
  • Read a tape measure and make calculated dimensions as needed.
  • Ensure all electrical connections are torqued to specification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Cost Center Manager.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience building electrical control panels.
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD.
  • Experience with SAP or another ERP system desired.
  • Understanding of basic ERP/MRP functions.
  • Understanding of electrical control schematics, including relay logic.
  • Basic electrical theory and basic PLC knowledge.
  • Strong general troubleshooting skills, both mechanical and electrical, including use of a digital multimeter and hand tools.
  • Basic mechanical skills; advanced mechanical skills such as tube bending also desired.
  • Basic PC understanding, with the ability to navigate a PC quickly.
  • Basic network infrastructure understanding is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate openly and effectively within and outside the department.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to do "whatever it takes."
  • English language proficiency, both written and verbal.
