Job summary

Uline, a family-owned distributor of shipping, packaging materials, and industrial supplies, is opening a new Connecticut warehouse in Plainfield. We are seeking a Control Mechanic to keep conveyors and equipment running smoothly.

Based in the Plainfield/CT area, this on-site role pays $35–$40 per hour and includes benefits, a bonus program, and opportunities to work with Engineering and Operations teams on diverse maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred.
• 2+ years of warehouse maintenance experience.
• Ability to work independently and with a team, and train others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor warehouse automated conveyors and systems.
• Complete preventative maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment including forklifts.
• Work with Engineering, Warehouse Administration, Facilities and Operational teams to ensure equipment runs effectively.
• Assist with parts management, inspections, repairs and remote troubleshooting.
• Apply hands-on expertise across a range of material handling systems.

Pay from $35 to $40 per hour

Position Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor warehouse automated conveyors and systems.


• Complete preventative maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment including forklifts.


• Work closely with Engineering, Warehouse Administration, Facilities and Operational teams to ensure equipment runs effectively.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent. Trade school or equivalent preferred.


• 2+ years of warehouse maintenance-related experience.


• Ability to work independently, with a team and train others.


• Electrical and mechanical skills with experience in PC and / or PLC control packages.


• Willingness to travel 2 - 3 times per year to support projects at Uline branches across North America.
