Responsibilities
Design / Engineering
- Originates design documents for small projects and in support of large programs.
- Develops narrative design documents.
- Conducts requirements analysis.
- Creates subsystem designs including CAD, panels, layouts, wiring, SCADA screens, hardware, and communications.
- Prepares specifications.
- Performs QA/QC and technical reviews of designs.
- Plans and designs procedures and fixtures for integrated systems factory testing.
- Resolves internal and external comments.
Programming
- Leads programming and configuration team efforts for complex automation and SCADA applications.
- Programs, configures, and troubleshoots PLCs, RTUs, and HMI systems.
- Performs testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and commissioning.
- Author testing and commissioning procedures.
- Prepares test reports and originates test procedures.
- Commissioning of deployed systems.
- Develops test fixtures and simulation devices.
- Performs factory and field testing.
- Maintains systems and performs hardware/software upgrades and replacements.
- Provides troubleshooting on service calls to existing and legacy system operators.
Managerial Responsibilities
- Estimates project costs.
- Conducts surveys, inspections, and tours of client sites as required.
- Prepares cost estimates and supporting documents for small projects.
- Assists senior engineers in preparing bids, proposals, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
- Evaluates and prices change orders.
Personnel Management
- Assigns technical tasks and coordinates with entry‑level engineers and technical staff.
Qualifications
Field Experience
- Reading electrical and control schematics and plans.
- Control system startup, configuration, and calibration.
- Testing and troubleshooting control systems.
- Proficiency with basic electrical and machinist hand tools.
- Experience with testing, calibration, or industry‑specific tools and software.
- Experience with computer networks.
- Experience with CAD/CAE software such as AutoCAD or EPLAN.
- Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
Requirements
- Proficient in programming languages such as ladder logic and structured text.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
- Proficient in designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs or DDCs from at least one of the following platforms:

- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field with 0+ years of experience.
