Job summary

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant to join our team. This is a Full-Time, Contractual position with a generous benefits package and teleworking options as applicable.

Responsibilities include assisting with clinical research projects, data collection, participant eligibility, and data analysis using SAS, STATA, and SPSS. Hiring range: $49,000 - $55,000, commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field related to clinical research.
  • Prior clinical research experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Job description

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Center for VaccineDevelopment and Global Health (CVD) brings together more thanfour decades of innovative and life-saving research on vaccines andinfectious diseases. The CVD is seeking a Clinical ResearchAssistant to join our team.

This is a Full-Time, Contractual position.

Primary Duties:
  • Responsible for assisting with the performance of researchprojects in a clinical setting, including recruitment of potentialstudy subjects and collection and organization of data.
  • Assist with performing data collection by conducting researchinterviews, reviewing medical charts, and accessing computerizedmedical information systems. Assists with recruiting and screeningsubjects for research studies according to IRB approvedprotocols.
  • Assist in verifying participant eligibility; obtains consentand enrollment; and assures accurate demographic information forfollow-up.
  • Assist with data analysis and interpretation, and thedevelopment of statistical reports of study data using descriptivestatistics using SAS, STATA, and SPSS statistical software. Assistsin developing, submitting, and providing content for grants,papers, abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations. Conducts andanalyzes literature searches.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator and other research personnelin the development of research protocols and materials by providingstudy analysis and forming conclusions and recommendations.
  • Assist in performing administrative duties. Maintainscommunication with participants and colleagues regarding Protocol-specific information and research orders. May also assist withproviding assessments and ensuring protocol compliance whileparticipants are in a study.
Qualifications :

Education: Bachelor\'s degree in a scientific field of studyrelated to the research of the clinical setting.

Experience: Prior clinical research experiencepreferred.

Supervisory Experience: N/A

Certification/Licensure: N/A

Other: Except for qualifications established by law,additional related experience and formal education in which one hasgained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for fullperformance of the work of the job class may be substituted for theeducation or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year ofrelated experience. In instances where specific education and/orexperience is required only directly related education and/orexperience may be substituted.

Hiring Range: $49,000 - $55,000, Commensurate with education andexperience
