Contracts & Pricing Strategy, Associate Director

What you will do The Contracts & Pricing Strategy Associate Director leads integrated U.S. pricing and contracting economics for OaR across launch and lifecycle planning. Reporting to the Dir Contracts & Pricing Strategy, the role translates the overall Obesity and Related Conditions contracts, pricing and value strategy into payer and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM) recommendations, Gross to Net (GTN) and latest estimate discount rate (LEDR) process, and coordinated channel economics. The role partners with the Consumer Director and Employer Lead Director to incorporate approved assumptions while they retain channel strategy and relationships. Prior‑authorization and utilization‑management analysis remain with the Coverage Lead.

Core responsibilities:

• Pricing and contracting strategy: Lead development of U.S. pricing and contracting recommendations for MariTide across commercial, Medicare and Medicaid channels across all payers and pharmacy benefit managers (PBM) Build account and portfolio economics, bid and negotiation scenarios, access-price trade-offs and guardrails. Partner with Coverage, Market Access, Contract Development and Contracting and Pricing Execution to translate approved strategy into executable contract terms.
• Integrated GTN and business planning: Lead the Obesity latest estimate discount rate (LEDR) process and maintain the integrated gross to net (GTN) and net-sales view used in launch planning, quarterly business reviews and long‑range planning. Reconcile rebates, fees, affordability, trade, government and channel‑mix assumptions; run base, upside and downside scenarios; document key dependencies; and explain actual‑to‑plan variances and changes in forward assumptions.
• Consumer and employer economics: Partner with the Consumer Director and Employer Lead Director to incorporate approved retail‑pharmacy, cash‑reimbursement and Direct to Employer (DTE) assumptions into gross to net (GTN). Model patient contribution, pharmacy and fulfillment fees, employer and member contributions, program fees, eligible lives, sites, enrollment, activation, utilization, persistence and ramp. Govern membership inputs and reconcile patient migration and population overlap across channels.
• Launch and lifecycle pricing: Translate Global value and pricing considerations into U.S. launch scenarios and communicate U.S. channel implications to Global partners. Develop assumptions, analogs, sensitivity ranges and decision triggers where actuals do not exist. Extend the pricing and gross to net (GTN) architecture to future indications and sequencing decisions as populations, evidence, benefit management, utilization and channel mix evolve.
• Governance and cross‑functional leadership: Lead cross‑functional pricing workstreams with Finance, Forecasting, Accounting, Government Pricing, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Trade, Brand and Market Access. Establish common model definitions, documentation and review cadence; identify duplicate‑discount, classification, reporting, privacy and channel‑conflict risks; and present clear recommendations, alternatives and unresolved issues to the Director and senior governance.

Basic qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 3 years of pricing, contracting, market access, finance, accounting, analytics or sales and marketing operations experience; OR Master’s degree and 5 years of pricing, contracting, market access, finance, accounting, analytics or sales and marketing operations experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of pricing, contracting, market access, finance, accounting, analytics or sales and marketing operations experience; OR Associate’s degree and 12 years of pricing, contracting, market access, finance, accounting, analytics or sales and marketing operations experience; OR High school diploma or GED and 14 years of pricing, contracting, market access, finance, accounting, analytics or sales and marketing operations experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Substantial U.S. pharmaceutical pricing, payer or PBM contracting, GTN forecasting or launch financial-planning experience, ideally in a high-volume chronic or cardiometabolic market.
• Demonstrated ownership of an enterprise forecast or economic model that integrates assumptions from multiple business owners and supports senior decisions.
• Experience with reimbursed, cash, employer, affordability, trade and government flows and their implications for GTN and price reporting.
• Ability to govern eligible-life and membership cohorts, channel migration, transaction economics, data lineage and model controls.
• Strong executive communication and influence without direct authority; advanced Excel and enterprise planning or deal‑modeling experience preferred.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
