Job summary

Michels Corporation in Texas is seeking a Contracts Manager to support commercial and contractual management of complex construction projects. This role focuses on change management, contractual compliance, and risk mitigation, collaborating with project leadership, field teams, project controls, and legal partners.

You will establish document control systems, draft formal correspondence, and develop change order narratives and TIAs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
5+ years of experience in construction project engineering, project management, or contract/commercial support.
Working knowledge of construction contract structures and change management processes.
Ability to read and interpret contracts, scopes of work, cost reports, and schedules.
Proficiency with MS Excel/Word; Power BI a plus.

Responsibilities

Review prime contracts, subcontracts, and change order procedures for notice requirements, milestones, and compliance obligations.
Track and manage project documentation including change orders, delay notices, claims, RFIs, submittals, and payment applications.
Maintain structured logs and dashboards to track contractual status and deadlines.
Draft and coordinate correspondence with owners, subcontractors, and consultants with Project Management and Legal.
Identify scope changes, cost overruns, delays, and risks requiring formal contractual action.
