Job summary

Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) seeks an Assistant Director of Contracts to enable technology transfer across its 26 colleges. You will draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements, ensuring compliance with sponsor policies and university guidelines.

The role requires strong communication and collaboration with attorneys, faculty, and external partners. The position is hybrid, with both remote and on-site work, and reports to the Director of the CUNY Technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Significant experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

• Support CUNY attorneys in contract and agreement negotiations as necessary.
• Ensure all terms and clauses comply with policies and sponsor requirements.
• Serve as primary contact for IP legal agreement processes with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with OR colleagues and Legal Affairs to draft or revise terms for IR, MTAs, NDAs, and licenses.
• Communicate potential contract risks to internal stakeholders at all levels.
• Maintain and update activity databases and trackers for timely document processing.
• Deliver educational content and training to faculty on legal agreements and technology commercialization.
