Job summary

Suncor Energy’s Commerce City refinery seeks a Source to Contract Professional – Supply Chain to lead contract development, sourcing, negotiation and lifecycle management supporting site operations and strategic goals.

You will build strong stakeholder relationships, manage risk, and drive value through commercial terms while ensuring alignment with site objectives and governance. Office-based role with standard hours and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of related professional experience and/or a combination of commercial and technical work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience in contracts management, category management, strategic sourcing, and/or supply chain operations focused on Maintenance, Engineering, Construction and Support Services scope.
  • Deep understanding of contracting and commercial concepts and processes, strong negotiation skills, and ability to lead terms and conditions negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop go-to-market strategy, bid evaluation and selection criteria for all levels of complexity, using market intelligence and contract compliance data.
  • Evaluate, develop, and recommend commercial strategies and structures for high-value contracts.
  • Lead negotiations for material and service contracts, including legal terms and formalize arrangements.
  • Determine contracting requirements to drive value, reduce costs, and motivate supplier performance.
  • Support contract close-out and gather performance feedback for future reference.
  • Ensure commercial requirements are met and manage supplier performance issues and disputes.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to identify upcoming sourcing and contracting needs.

Source to Contract (S2C) Professional – Supply Chain

A dynamic team, you will lead the development, sourcing, negotiation, and lifecycle management of contracts supporting the Commerce City Refinery. You will build strong relationships with business stakeholders and suppliers while delivering commercial value, managing risk, and supporting the site’s operational and strategic objectives.

Salary Range

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 Annually Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. Within the range, individual pay isdeterminedby work location andadditionalfactors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training

Minimum Requirements
  • 10 years of related professional experience and/or a combination of commercial and technical work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management
  • Experience in contracts management, category management, strategic sourcing, and/or supply chain operations focused on Maintenance, Engineering, Construction and Support Services scope
  • Deep understanding of contracting and commercial concepts and processes, coupled with strong negotiation skills and the ability to lead commercial and legal terms and conditions negotiations
  • Strong financial and business acumen and commercial capabilities, ability to lead others in connecting ideas, events and circumstances to identify effective business solutions in a complex environment

Responsibilities
  • Develop go-to-market strategy, bid evaluation and selection criteria for all levels of complexity, integrating market intelligence from historical supplier performance and contract compliance information
  • Evaluate, develop, and recommend commercial strategies and structures for complex, high-value, and high-risk contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives, risk tolerance, and market conditions
  • Lead negotiations for material and service contract including legal terms and conditions, and formalize negotiated arrangements through contract documentation
  • Determine contracting requirements to drive value, eliminate cost from the value chain, and motivate strong supplier performance
  • Support change management process for contracts; lead contract close-out process and ensure supplier performance feedback is gathered for future reference
  • Ensure that commercial and business requirements are met, and supplier performance issues are addressed in a timely manner, including commercial dispute and claim management.
  • Support site demand plan reviews in partnership with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects and Turnaround to identify and evaluate upcoming sourcing and contracting requirements
  • Provide guidance to SCM Advisors and business unit stakeholders, sharing commercial expertise, negotiation practices, and contract management knowledge to strengthen organizational capability
Location & Other Key Details

This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Commerce City refinery business centre, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd. Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.A.
