Job summary

VT Group is seeking a Contractor Program Security Officer to oversee security operations for a highly sensitive intelligence environment. The role focuses on protecting personnel, facilities, and classified information in a hybrid onsite setting in Herndon, VA.

You will support security programs, build secured areas, and conduct regular assessments to mitigate vulnerabilities while enforcing intelligence community standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in security or cybersecurity or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in security operations, physical security, or related role within intelligence/defense.
• Proven experience managing access control systems and conducting site inspections.
• Strong knowledge of security regulations and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Proficiency in security technologies and software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support personnel security, physical security, document control, and classified networks.
• Assist with building and maintaining classified secured areas.
• Conduct regular security assessments and inspections of the tenant site to identify vulnerabilities.
• Implement and enforce security protocols in accordance with intelligence community standards.
• Manage access control systems, visitor management, and badging operations.
• Monitor and assess potential physical and cyber threats to the facility and personnel.
• Coordinate incident response plans and lead investigations into security breaches or suspicious activity.
• Develop and maintain site-specific security plans (SSSPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare and submit security reports, audits, and incident logs to appropriate authorities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant security clearance requirements and training.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of physical security measures, including barriers, surveillance systems, and alarm systems.
• Manage the integration of new security technologies and systems as needed.

This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, agency, and local security regulations, identifying and mitigating threats, and maintaining a secure operational site. This role is hybrid onsite in Herndon, VA.

VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $100,000-$150,000 which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
