Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a Welding/Mechanical Inspector for intermittent contract work in Casper, Wyoming and San Diego, California.

The role involves inspecting welds, welding procedures, and related equipment to ensure compliance with ASME/API/NBIC codes and safety standards. Applicants should have AWS CWI, API 510 or API 570 credentials and at least five years of welding inspection experience, including QA/vendor surveillance or shop inspections.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI, API 510 or API 570 certification is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years industrial welding-related inspection experience.
• Two (2) of these years should be in Quality Assurance / vendor surveillance / shop inspections.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welds, reviewing welding procedures and conducting visual and dimensional inspections.
• Perform in-service, turnaround, and RBI inspections as required.
• Witness non-destructive testing (NDT) and interpret results and verify reports.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting results and non-conformities.
