Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a Welding/Mechanical Inspector for intermittent contract work in Casper, Wyoming and San Diego, CA. The role involves inspecting welds, reviewing procedures, witnessing NDT, and reporting results to ensure compliance with applicable codes and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of welding inspection experience, plus certifications such as AWS CWI or API 510/570. Pay ranges from $45 to $50 per hour, with per diem coverage for eligible travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years industrial welding-related inspection experience.
• Two years of QA/vendor surveillance/shop inspections experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect weld processes, equipment, and components to ensure compliance with ASME/API/NBIC and relevant regulations.
• Review WPS/PQR and issue corrective action reports as needed.
• Witness NDT methods (UT/PT/MT/RT) and verify results; perform visual and dimensional inspections.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and document non-conformities; communicate findings to welders and engineers.
