Job Summary:

Contributes to the design and implementation of scalable front-end web applications that support Nintendo’s consumer-facing digital experiences. Builds secure, performant, accessible, and maintainable application features using modern front-end technologies, while applying full-stack thinking to areas such as server-side rendering, API integration, structured content modeling, CMS data management, and application reliability. This role is part of the Digital Marketing department at Nintendo of America (NOA) and is an 8-month contract position.

Description of Duties:

• Develops, tests, debugs, and implements front-end application features using React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and related technologies.
• Builds features across client-rendered and server-rendered application patterns, including server-side rendering, static generation, server components, routing, caching behavior, and data-fetching strategies.
• Contributes to the design of smaller-scale application features and technical solutions using established engineering practices, team standards, and guidance from more senior engineers when appropriate.
• Implements secure, performant, accessible, and maintainable code for high-traffic, consumer-facing web experiences.
• Works with structured content and content models in CMS platforms, including defining, updating, and consuming content types, entries, references, and reusable content patterns.
• Partners with design, product, content, localization, QA, analytics, and other engineering teams to understand requirements, clarify tradeoffs, and deliver practical technical solutions.
• Integrates front-end application features with GraphQL, REST APIs, JSON data, CMS-managed content, and other service-based data sources.
• Troubleshoots application issues, investigates root causes, and implements fixes for functional, performance, browser compatibility, accessibility, security, and live-site concerns.
• Participates in technical design reviews, code reviews, QA walkthroughs, release activities, and post-launch support.
• Maintains and enhances existing applications by adding or updating features, improving reliability, addressing technical debt, and supporting evolving platform standards.
• Tracks assigned work, dependencies, risks, and implementation progress in Jira or related project tracking tools, and communicates project status clearly to engineering teammates, project partners, and stakeholders through appropriate documentation, updates, and team communication channels.
• Ensures work is completed in compliance with established security requirements, internal controls, accessibility expectations, and quality standards.

Summary of Requirements:

• Minimum five years of related web development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge and practical experience building modern front-end applications with React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS or similar frameworks.
• Experience developing features in applications that use server-side rendering, static generation, server components, or similar modern rendering patterns.
• Experience working with CMS-driven websites or applications, including structured content, content models, reusable content patterns, and authoring workflows. Contentful experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in integrating front-end applications with GraphQL, REST APIs, JSON, and service-based data sources.
• Able to analyze moderately complex technical problems, evaluate options within established engineering practices, and recommend practical solutions.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills across browser behavior, data issues, rendering problems, performance, accessibility, and application defects.
• Able to write secure, maintainable, testable code and participate constructively in code reviews.
• Experience with automated testing approaches such as unit tests, integration tests, component tests, end-to-end tests, or similar quality practices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information in straightforward situations.
• Able to estimate assigned work, communicate risks or dependencies, and follow through on commitments with moderate guidance.
• Experience with high-volume, consumer-facing, ecommerce, marketing, or entertainment websites preferred.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Location and Status:

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

Benefits and Base Pay

This contract position includes the base pay range listed below and is eligible for benefits through the employing agency. Agency benefits include eligibility for medical insurance, employee assistance program, and paid sick leave. All benefits are subject to elections, eligibility requirements, plan and program terms. Benefits offerings will be confirmed at the time of offer by the employing agency, and may differ depending on the employing agency partner.

Pay Range:

$58 — $70 USD
