Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Contract Specialist to support sourcing, procurement, and contract management initiatives for a leading healthcare organization. This individual will develop and execute contracting strategies, negotiate vendor agreements, and manage complex administrative, legal, operational, and financial aspects of the contract lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, finance, or related field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience with clinical teams delivering efficiencies and financial performance.
  • Experience building contract terms and SLAs with legal counsel.
  • Knowledge of supply chain concepts incl. suppliers, distributors, and GPOs; inventory management.
  • MS Office proficiency; MMIS and ERP familiarity.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build credibility and long-term relationships with business units.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to drive cost savings and supplier performance improvements.
  • Lead contract negotiations and coordinate legal reviews to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, including supplier performance, pricing compliance, and vendor relationship management.
  • Support and lead sourcing events, RFPs, bid processes, and stakeholder collaboration across business units.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships, including supplier outreach, onboarding, and engagement initiatives.
  • Track sourcing performance, savings initiatives, contract compliance, and supplier metrics through reporting and analytics.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, public bid requirements, and organizational compliance standards.

Job description

  • Fully onsite for first month or so for training
  • After that, flexible hybrid/remote schedule - 1-2 days a week onsite

Pay Rate: $30-45/hr (flexible based on experience)

MUST HAVES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or other related field
  • 2–3 years of experience working with clinical teams that include creating business/operational efficiencies, improving productivity, and driving financial performance
  • Core strength and experience in building contract terms and conditions, including business and service level agreements, in collaboration with legal counsel
  • Knowledgeable in supply chain concepts, such as the functions of suppliers, distributors, and GPOs, as well as inventory management procedures
  • Competent in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiar with MMIS and ERP systems
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and appropriately prioritize tasks
  • Exhibits enhanced problem-solving skills and is detail-oriented
  • Proven communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to grasp new concepts and establish credibility efficiently while building long‑term relationships with business unit partners

PLUSSES:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience in a healthcare and/or government/public purchasing environment
  • Exposure to supplier development initiatives, supplier engagement programs, or community‑based sourcing efforts is desirable.
