Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in New York. The position runs 730am-430pm, Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays 7am-1pm. Projected duration is 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

The main duties include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, data maintenance, and ensuring specimen integrity under OSHA and DEP regulations. Benefits are available and phlebotomy certification is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
• Decontaminate and update patient information as required.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per protocol.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
• Answer telephone inquiries and report results as needed.
