Job summary

Markent Personnel is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in New Canton, VA. The position runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with a duration of 3 months plus potential for permanent placement.

This role requires phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital, and proficiency with data entry and MS Office. Benefits are available, and heel sticks may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification as required by state.
• Minimum 6 months performing venipunctures in fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens.
• Centrifuge and process specimens per procedures.
• Record maintenance data and decontamination activities.
• Update patient information and track specimens.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients, using needles as appropriate.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure correct labeling.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
