Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and label centrifuged specimens.
• Collect, label, and store specimens per established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Package specimens for transport per protocol.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and label appropriately.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer inquiries by reading laboratory results.
