Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking a Network Engineer for a 250 day contract. The role focuses on network design, security, and administration of perimeter, switching/routing, storage, and backup infrastructure.

You will work with Palo Alto firewalls, ContentKeeper, Aruba wireless, and VMware virtualization to support district IT services. The candidate collaborates with DevOps and software engineers to implement infrastructure solutions and provides Tier 3 escalation support.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Equivalents considered in lieu of degree.
Hands-on experience administering enterprise firewalls, switching/routing, SAN storage, and backup platforms.

Responsibilities

Administer and tune next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto) and enforce security policies.
Administer ContentKeeper for web content filtering and compliance.
Design and maintain network segmentation and east/west traffic using ACLs and Pensando-based policy enforcement.
Design and maintain Aruba-based switching and routing across the district WAN and site LANs.
