The Town Of Pecos City is seeking an Alternate Municipal Court Judge to preside over municipal matters, maintain the court docket, and ensure fair, lawful adjudication. This contract position operates as an independent contractor, reporting to the City Council and coordinating with the City Manager.

Compensation is hourly and structured with weekday, weekend, and holiday rates. The role requires a Texas-licensed attorney or significant TMCEC education, with priority for prior municipal court

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• TMCEC Judges Education preferred but not required.
• Texas attorney license preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of municipal court procedures and local ordinances.

Responsabilidades

• Preside over Municipal Court for class C misdemeanors and related matters.
• Maintain a central docket of all cases filed in the City of Pecos.
• Determine innocence or culpability and levy fines.
• Collaborate with other Pecos Municipal Judges for consistency.
• Supervise juror notification and court procedures.
• Support court activities with Clerks, City Attorney, and Prosecutor.
