Job summary

Pride Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support a client medical facility in Irving, Texas (75063). This contract role spans 3 to 6 months with a possible extension and offers a solid entry into a top-tier healthcare organization.

You will follow procedures for specimen handling, perform analyses, review results, and ensure QA/QC and regulatory compliance. A BS in Medical Technology or related field is preferred, with national MT/MLT certification and 1 year of clinical

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures (see department SOPs).
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and all maintenance performed.
• Follow established policies and procedures when test systems are not within performance levels.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance or reporting, correct or notify supervisor.
• Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from specifications.
• Report STATS or Critical results to clients and answer questions from customers or other lab personnel.
• Maintain complete records of all testing performed on-site.
• Attend monthly department trainings and safety sessions.
