Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Specialist to join a growing information security program. This 6‑month contract offers hybrid options (Houston, TX with 3 onsite/2 remote) or fully remote from Chicago, IL, with strong extension potential.

You will help mature governance, risk, and compliance processes across IT, cloud, and OT environments, collaborating with multiple teams to implement frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of GRC, cybersecurity compliance, or IT audit experience.
• Knowledge of NIST CSF, 800-53/171, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS Controls.
• Experience supporting audits, evidence collection, and reporting.
• Ability to develop and maintain security policies and control docs.
• Experience with risk assessments, gaps, and control reviews.
• Familiarity with third‑party/vendor risk management.
• Strong documentation and business‑friendly communication.
• Experience with cross‑functional teams across IT and business units.
• Knowledge of IAM, vulnerability, incident and change management.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the GRC program across IT, cloud, and OT.
• Develop, review, and maintain security policies, standards, and controls.
• Coordinate audit evidence collection for internal/external reviews.
• Track findings, remediation plans, and risk acceptance activities.
• Perform control testing and compliance validation.
• Assist with risk assessments, gap assessments and maturity reviews.
• Support third‑party risk management and security questionnaires.
• Collaborate with IT, Security, Legal, Procurement, and Operations teams.
• Map controls to NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS Controls; maintain dashboards.
• Prepare compliance reports and leadership presentations.
• Monitor remediation efforts and drive timely resolution.
