Adobe seeks a Data Engineer 1 (contract) through NextDeavor to design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure that fuels growth monetization and informs product and marketing outcomes. You will focus on data pipelines, SQL optimization, and ETL/ELT workflows in distributed environments, collaborating with Data Science, Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams.

The role requires strong SQL competence, experience with Hadoop/Hive/Spark, and a track record of delivering reliable data

Qualifications

• Strong SQL expertise with ability to write and optimize complex queries on large datasets.
• Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, or similar distributed processing frameworks.
• Experience building and optimizing scalable data pipelines in cloud and enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in ETL orchestration and workflow management tools.
• Experience with data quality practices, pipeline monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting growth monetization initiatives.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to analyze A/B experiment results.
• Develop and enhance ETL/ELT workflows for large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
• Optimize pipeline performance, reliability, scalability, and data quality across distributed systems.
• Use Big Data technologies to process high-volume datasets efficiently.
• Build automated monitoring, alerting, and validation frameworks to support pipeline health and data integrity.
• Partner with Data Science, Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams to deliver actionable insights and scalable data solutions.
